Insider Spills Beans on Google Pixel Fold 2’s True Screen Sizes Amid Leak Frenzy

The rumor mill surrounding Google’s next foldable smartphone offering, tentatively dubbed the Pixel Fold 2, has kicked into overdrive lately. But amid a flurry of speculative leaks, one insider source is separating fact from fiction when it comes to the device’s all-important display sizes.

According to reports from a tipster with a proven track record, recent leaks pegging the Pixel Fold 2’s inner foldable display at around 7.6 inches are way off base. The actual panel size? A roomier 8.02 inches diagonally when fully unfurled.

As for the outer “cover” display designed for one-handed use, that’s said to measure 6.29 inches across—giving Google’s latest foldable a reasonably compact footprint when closed.

The specificity doesn’t stop there, either. Our chatty source also claims that panel production for these exact 8.02-inch and 6.29-inch displays kicked off back in February. With shipments already en route to Google’s assembly partners, they project the Pixel Fold 2 could realistically start arriving on doorsteps sometime in April, allaying fears of a potential delay.

Notably, Google will have a new supplier on board for its latest folding endeavor as well. While Samsung remains involved, providing 11.1-inch panels likely destined for a rumored tablet or larger foldable variant, LG Display has secured orders for an 11.1-inch Google folding screen of its own. A concerning development for Samsung’s mobile display dominance, perhaps?

Of course, with the Pixel Fold 2 still months away from any official debut, all of the juicy details above should be taken with the requisite grain of salt. For foldable fans and Google diehards alike, though, the increasing leak frequency certainly has the hype train leaving the station.

Here’s hoping the real device manages to live up to the pre-release buzz when it inevitably breaks cover—starting with that gloriously expansive 8-inch inner display, if this insider intel proves accurate.
