Redmi K70E Benchmark Results Showcase Dimensity 8300 Impressive Gains – Does it Close the Gap to Flagships?

The first real-life images of Xiaomi’s upcoming Redmi K70E reveal a gorgeous nearly bezel-less display with high 1800nit brightness, 120Hz fluidity, and an under-display fingerprint reader. Powering the affordable flagship phone is MediaTek’s new Dimensity 8300 ultra chip, which early benchmark testing suggests delivers excellent improvements – but does it match top-tier Snapdragon processors?

Fabricated on cutting-edge 4nm architecture, Dimensity 8300 inside the K70E pushes all four Cortex-A715 performance cores aggressively to a blistering 3.35GHz. This propels a 20% compute boost over prior Dimensity generations. The six-core Mali-G615 GPU also impresses, clocking speeds up to 1400MHz for big graphics gains.

Complementing the speedy Dimensity 8300 is up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB UFS 4.0 storage, both fastest-in-class. This combo enables Redmi K70E to blaze through tasks and intensive games, early benchmark numbers showcase the Dimensity 8300 ultra advancements.

In Geekbench testing, the multi-core score tops processors like the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, reflecting solid improvements especially in multi-threaded workloads. However, single-core performance still falls slightly behind. On the graphics side, Aztec Ruins benchmarks demonstrate the K70E brushing up against last year’s Dimensity 9200 flagships.

Redmi K70E running Dimensity 8300 ultra even surpasses the Galaxy S22’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in some tests. MediaTek continues steadily closing the gap to match or beat last-gen offerings.

For consumers in price-sensitive markets like China and India where the Redmi K70E will launch first, getting flagship-contending speed at more affordable pricing makes Dimensity 8300 an appealing prospect. Especially in graphical capabilities essential for gaming, the new MediaTek solution impresses.

With high performance coming into lower cost devices quicker each generation, MediaTek’s Dimensity 8300 makes future-proof features like swift 5G, rapid charging, gorgeous displays, and capable photography more accessible to the masses sooner.

And in light of worries over a global chip slowdown, seeing new cutting-edge solutions shipping like clockwork emphasizes the semiconductor sector’s resiliency and relentless advancement trajectory.
