ASUS ROG ALLY Portable Gaming and AMD Join Forces to Introduce the Windows Handheld

ASUS ROG has partnered with AMD to launch their first-ever Windows handheld, dubbed the ROG ALLY, is a portable gaming device equipped with a powerful customized 4nm AMD APU, running on the Zen4 CPU and RDNA3 GPU architecture. The handheld’s compact design is built for gaming enthusiasts, promising to deliver top-notch performance on the go.

The ROG ALLY handheld features a 7-inch 1080P IPS touchscreen, boasting a 120Hz refresh rate, 5ms response time, and 500 nits of brightness, HDR10 support ensures vibrant and lifelike colors, providing a truly immersive gaming experience, handheld interior has been engineered for optimal thermal management, employing a dual-fan and single heat pipe design that claims a peak noise of just 20 decibels.

One notable aspect of the ROG ALLY is its compatibility with the XG Mobile graphics dock, which can be connected via a dedicated PCIe 3.0 x8 cable, allows users to expand the device’s graphical capabilities with the powerful RTX 4090 mobile graphics card.

Unlike Steam Deck, which uses a customized version of SteamOS, the ROG ALLY runs on the Windows 11 system, means that players can enjoy a vast library of games from platforms such as Steam and Epic Games Store, stay tuned for more information on pricing and availability.
