Apple watchOS 10 upcoming: New Widgets Show at WWDC23

WWDC23 developer conference upcoming, Apple pulled out all the stops and introduced system updates for its five major product lines. Among these updates, watchOS 10 is turning heads with its fresh design and new features that make it more akin to its cousin, iOS.

watchOS 10: A Nod to iOS

With watchOS 10, Apple aims to bridge the gap between the watch and iPhone experience. The new home screen layout allows users to create and manage app folders, making it easier to navigate their favorite apps. To the delight of many, the “Glances” interface style from the past is making a triumphant return, but with a twist: widget stacking and switching, similar to iOS.

Widgets: The New Stars of watchOS 10

The weight of widget functionality has been ramped up in watchOS 10, signaling that widgets will become an integral part of the Apple Watch experience. Instead of returning users to the app home screen, using the digital crown button will now jump to the widget interface.

This new focus on widgets is expected to make browsing and operating the Apple Watch more seamless than ever, as users can quickly access and visualize pertinent information at a glance. The watchOS 10 beta may introduce new widgets on the watch face, such as weather, calendar, fitness, and health.
