ASUS Unveils ROG Keris II Ace Wireless Gaming Mouse – 4000Hz Speeds via USB Accelerator

PC gaming peripherals leader ASUS has officially revealed the ROG Keris II Ace, an upgraded version of their popular Keris wireless mouse. Touting lightning-fast 4000Hz wireless connectivity and 8000Hz wired speeds, it aims to be the ultimate esports mouse.

ASUS packs the Keris II Ace with a suite of enhancements for competitive gaming:

  • Super lightweight at just 54g
  • ROG Optical Micro Switches rated for 150 million clicks
  • AimPoint optical sensor with up to 42,000 DPI
  • Pre-lubed ROG NX mechanical switches

It features an all-new ergonomic shape reminiscent of the renowned Logitech EC series. Razer Viper Mini-sized, the right-handed design is ideal for claw and fingertip grips. RGB lighting adds style points.

But the real headline is blazing 4000Hz wireless speeds, double the previous Keris. This requires ASUS’ new USB accelerator device – the original dongle connects to this for the speed boost. The accelerator will be sold separately.

4000Hz polling means the mouse position updates every 0.25ms for incredible response time. For esports, every millisecond counts. The wired USB mode clocks an even faster 8000Hz at 0.125ms intervals.

ROG product manager Vivian Lien explained the company’s pursuit of higher wireless speeds:

“Tired of cables getting in your way? Say goodbye to latency and interference with our all-new ROG Keris II Ace wireless gaming mouse. Experience wired-level speeds with 8000Hz polling rate over USB and 4000Hz polling rate in 2.4GHz RF mode. Get ready for the next generation of wireless gaming.”

Slated to launch in Q2 2024, the ROG Keris II Ace raises the bar for wireless gaming mice. The clever use of a signal accelerator device also points to a future where RF devices can match the speed of wired connections.

Are you excited to see 4000Hz wireless mice become a reality? Let us know if you’ll upgrade your rig with the Keris II Ace when it drops later this year!
