iQOO 12 Boosts Eye Protection with OTA Update Enabling 2160Hz High-Frequency Display Dimming

Vivo sub-brand iQOO has rolled out an impressive OTA update focused on display enhancements for eye protection, update available now for iQOO 12 series and Neo9 series, enables high-frequency PWM dimming from 2 nits to 600 nits at a blazing 2160Hz.

This 2160Hz dimming range covers diverse usage scenarios and significantly improves on previous solutions for reducing eye strain. Flicker sensitivity is also addressed – the updated Screen Visibility Manager (SVM) can dim displays to an ultra-low 0.03 nits.

    Activating the enhancements is straightforward:

  • Update to the latest system software
  • Open “High-Frequency Dimming” in Developer Options
  • The entire process takes just minutes.

Considering how much time people spend staring at phone screens, eye protection should be a top priority for manufacturers. Constant usage in varied environments can negatively impact comfort and focus over time.

By investing in cutting-edge solutions like 2160Hz PWM dimming, iQOO shows they take eye health seriously, impressive technical specs translate to a smoother, less strenuous viewing experience.

As phone usage becomes inexorably intertwined into daily life, innovations that reduce eye fatigue truly matter. iQOO’s commitment to rapid, impactful updates through OTA delivery is commendable.
