Apple Watch Ultra 3 No-Show: Rumors Solidify Ahead of Event

The tech world’s eyes are on Apple event approaches, but one anticipated device might be missing from the lineup. Recent reports suggest the Apple Watch Ultra 3 won’t make an appearance, aligning with predictions made nearly a year ago.

While the Ultra 3 may be a no-show, Apple Watch enthusiasts might still have something to look forward to. Mark Gurman, a well-known Apple insider, expects the Ultra 2 to stick around with a fresh twist – a long-awaited black color option. This addition could breathe new life into the existing model, offering a sleek alternative to the current titanium finish.

Gurman’s intel doesn’t stop at the Ultra line. He also hints at a potential delay for the new Apple Watch SE, though details remain scarce. This development could impact Apple’s strategy in the budget-friendly smartwatch segment.

Interestingly, this news isn’t coming out of left field. Back in October 2023, respected Apple supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo first floated the idea that 2024 might not see an Ultra 3 release. Kuo suggested Apple might need additional time to develop “innovative health management features” for the premium wearable.

As the dust settles after the event, questions will inevitably arise about Apple’s plans for its high-end smartwatch line. Will the focus shift to refining existing models? Or is Apple quietly working on a revolutionary update for the Ultra series?

Whatever the case, it seems the Apple Watch lineup is set for an interesting year. As we wait for official confirmation, one thing’s for sure – Apple’s wearable strategy is anything but ultra-predictable.
