Xiaomi Magnetic Bluetooth Speaker: iPhone MagSafe Stand + Speaker in One Tiny Device

Xiaomi latest crowdfunding project Xiaomi bluetooth speaker magnetic version, launched on Xiaomi website and blew past its funding target almost immediately. Standard retail price of 199 yuan (around $30). Notably, light brown colorway has already sold out. That kind of velocity tells you something: isn’t just another portable speaker fighting for shelf space.

What separates it from the crowded Bluetooth speaker market is a straightforward proposition — it’s a speaker and a phone stand, simultaneously.

A magnetic ring built into the base lets the speaker attach to the rear of a compatible smartphone. Once connected, it functions as a stand while simultaneously delivering wireless audio. That dual-purpose design opens up practical use cases most standalone speakers can’t touch: landscape mode for streaming video, portrait mode for scrolling short-form content, gym sessions, commutes, outdoor trips — you name it.

Xiaomi bluetooth speaker magnetic version snaps directly onto any iPhone 12 or later via a built-in MagSafe-compatible ring. Android users and non-MagSafe Xiaomi devices aren’t left out, either — an included magnetic ring adapter adds compatibility without fuss.

One genuinely clever engineering detail: a Hall-effect sensor detects attachment and powers the speaker on automatically, eliminating the need to press a button before audio starts. Detach it, and the speaker drops into sleep mode. It’s frictionless in a way most accessories simply aren’t.

Driver is a 1.5-inch, 3W wideband unit — adequate for background listening at a desk or outdoors, though not a replacement for a proper portable speaker. A woven fabric grille covers the driver, and an RGB light ring at the base can sync with whatever’s playing. It’s a nice visual touch that doesn’t feel gratuitous.

Connectivity-wise, the Xiaomi Bluetooth Speaker Magnetic Version runs Bluetooth 6.0. Two units can be paired for stereo sound, and up to 10 speakers can be linked simultaneously for larger setups. That spec raises an interesting question, particularly for iPhone Air users whose handset ships with a single built-in speaker. Pair two of these magnetic units to that phone, and you’ve effectively constructed a stereo rig. Phone’s lone internal speaker becomes something of an afterthought. It’s not the use case Xiaomi’s marketing materials lead with, but it’s a legitimate one.

Weighs around 95 grams, light enough that it doesn’t turn a phone into something unwieldy when clipped on. Speaker also carries an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance, packs a 650mAh battery, and delivers roughly four hours of playback per charge.

The campaign is currently limited to Xiaomi in China, and NextBuying pre-order availability.

Still, for a device priced at $30-$60, Xiaomi bluetooth speaker magnetic doesn’t ask buyers to compromise much. It’s portable, intelligently designed, MagSafe-ready, and removes the need to carry a separate phone stand. For those who are magnetized to the idea of doing more with less — consider yourself attracted.
