Intel has unveiled its latest gen of processors for laptops, Intel Ultra 7 series codenamed Meteor Lake, which promise significant performance gains thanks to architecture improvements and advanced manufacturing.
The flagship is the Core i9-13980HX, part of the high-performance Ultra 7 155H family, built on Intel’s cutting-edge Intel 7 process, it packs 24MB of L3 cache and is the first mobile processor to reach 5.6GHz turbo speeds.
Ultra 7 155H uses Intel’s hybrid x86 architecture, combining Performance cores (P-cores) and Efficient cores (E-cores) to balance power and performance, specific configurations can have up to 16 total cores (6 P-cores + 8 E-cores).
Compared to the prior 12700H, the 13980HX offers two additional P-cores, more cache, and faster clock speeds to drive performance upwards of 30% in multithreaded workloads, gaming speeds see a healthy uplift as well.
The intelligent scheduler can shift workloads between P and E cores to optimize either for speed or efficiency as needed, adaptable approach squeezes more power from the 7nm processor.
Additional gains come from integrated AI acceleration enabled by the dedicated Intel Deep Learning Boost technology. Intel DL Boost speeds up AI-powered creative workloads like photo/video editing.
First Ultra 7 155H laptops include the ASUS Zenbook Pro 14 and MSI Creator Z17, ASUS new laptops Zenbook 14 (UX3405MA) scored over 12,000 in multi-core testing, showcasing the impressive firepower packed into even thin chassis.
With up to 16 processing threads available, the Ultra 7 155H series empowers creators, developers, and power users to push laptop performance further than before, even demanding tasks like 3D rendering and programming are handled swiftly.
The Raptor Lake architecture also scales down to lower-power models like the Core i9-13900HX vPro, aimed at professional usage. With optimized battery life and integrated Intel vPro management technology, it balances performance for remote work and enterprise needs.
Overall, the latest Ultra 7 processors give laptop makers the fastest Intel CPUs ever for mobile computing. Innovations like the hybrid core design and advanced Intel 7 manufacturing urge laptop performance into a new era.
Whether for gaming, content creation, coding or business, Intel’s new Raptor Lake H-series processors enable thin, light laptops capable of tackling intensive workflows traditionally confined to desktops. Intel Ultra 7 family and Core i9-13980HX represent a new level of mobile productivity.
