Huawei has announced the release of its 10 Gigabit wireless campus network solution leveraging the combination of AirEngine Wi-Fi 7 series products and CloudEngine S5755-H multi-rate switches, provides customers with a major wireless network upgrade delivering speeds from 1 Gigabit up to 10 Gigabits per second.
Compared to Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 7 significantly expands spectrum resources by adding the 6 GHz frequency band, increasing channel bandwidth to 320MHz, and upgrading encoding from 1024QAM to 4096QAM. Together, these advancements enable total throughput up to 18.67 Gbps, doubling network speed capabilities for individual devices.
In August 2023 testing by Tolly, Huawei’s Wi-Fi 7 access points delivered blazing single-device download speeds reaching 4.3 Gbps. Major wireless speed boost will bring new possibilities for bandwidth-heavy and latency-sensitive applications.
Huawei’s Wi-Fi 7 solution also utilizes coordinated scheduling across access points, combined with advanced interference analysis and adaptation powered by AI, enables continuous wideband networking support for over 120 concurrent high-definition video streams indoors, while avoiding contention from large downloads.
Latency is also reduced to an average of just 2 milliseconds using Multi-Link Operation (MLO) technology incorporated in Wi-Fi 7, enables near real-time response for time-sensitive applications.
Recently, Huawei assisted Southwest Jiaotong University in China in upgrading its campus network to Wi-Fi 7. The 10 Gigabit wireless environment now covers all key areas including classrooms, libraries, dorms and offices.
High bandwidth and low latency of Wi-Fi 7 will become critical as advanced technologies like AR/VR, 8K video, and IoT proliferation create exponential growth in wireless traffic and devices. Huawei’s 10 Gigabit campus solution ensures networks keep pace with these demands.
Huawei continues leading the industry’s progression to Wi-Fi 7. Its deep expertise deploying Wi-Fi 6 solutions provided valuable experience that guided innovations in Wi-Fi 7. This head start has allowed Huawei to deliver mature Wi-Fi 7 products capable of tremendous speed and scale.
Wi-Fi generations occur roughly every three years. With Wi-Fi 6 only going mainstream over the past few years, Wi-Fi 7’s arrival demonstrates rapid progress in wireless networking.
For educational institutions, enterprises, and other organizations, Huawei’s Wi-Fi 7 campus solution provides a major wireless boost to satisfy today’s bandwidth needs while future-proofing the network. As one of the first to market, Huawei aims to maintain its edge in Wi-Fi innovation.
