Huawei has opened pre-orders for its latest foldable smartphone, the Mate X5. The foldable device is now available for reservation on the Huawei Store, with a 1,000 RMB deposit.
Huawei Mate X5 looks to iterate on its predecessor, the Mate X3 released just six months ago. Specific details remain scarce, but Huawei has outlined multiple configurations with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage.
While Huawei hasn’t confirmed processors, leaks point to the Mate X5 featuring the same Kirin 9000S chipset as Huawei’s Mate 60 smartphone series, expected to ship with HarmonyOS 4 software.
In terms of design, the Mate X5 will come in five colors – Purple, Black, White, Gold, and Green. The Mate X3 sported a 6.4-inch external flexible OLED display and a foldable 7.85-inch internal OLED screen.
Cameras are likely similar to the Mate X3’s 50MP main, 13MP ultrawide, and 12MP periscope telephoto triple rear setup. Official pricing and full specs will be announced closer to the retail launch.
