OnePlus Ace 2 Pro Review: A Display and Camera Powerhouse

OnePlus has officially launched its latest flagship phone, the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro, claiming it will push hardware limits in the industry. While retaining OnePlus’ classic three-stage alert slider, the Ace 2 Pro sports a slim 8.98mm thickness and weighs just 210g, available color green and gray. There’s phone oozes with its 3D curved back panel that ensure comfortable handling.

Rear camera module resembles a stylish wristwatch, with lens rings featuring watch-like markings. When illuminated, the all-glass surface with its neat circular brushed texture creates a dazzling light effect reminiscent of a watch dial. The radiating back cover transitions from glitter to tree ring-like circular brushing for a dazzling yet natural look. The top plating adds a diffused reflection to enhance the glassy transparency.

Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset plus LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, the Ace 2 Pro promises lighting-fast performance. OnePlus’ memory gene recombination technology, developed with Hynix, enables longer background app retention with 24GB LPDDR5X memory chips.

Gaming is silky smooth too, maintaining high frame rates around 60fps during gameplay. The phone does exhibit occasional lag when first loading complex scenes, but quickly recovers. Heat dissipation is handled by a new superconductive graphite VC covering a vast 9140mm2 area.

The front 6.74-inch 1.5K AMOLED display dazzles, utilizing a customized Q9+ emissive material co-developed with BOE for 14% improved emissivity, with a 500 nit manual max brightness and 1200 nit peak, the screen supports Pro XDR for enhanced highlight and shadow details. Rain-touch technology ensures wet fingers won’t hamper touch responsiveness.

A 5000mAh battery keeps you powered up with 150W Warp Charge filling to 100% in just 17 minutes. The UFCS fast charging protocol and SUPERVOOC S chip ensure blazing charging speeds.

The capable triple camera setup sticks to OnePlus’ formula – 50MP main (Sony IMX890 with OIS), 8MP ultra-wide, and 2MP macro. Imaging benefits from flagship-level tuning and algorithms like Ultra Clear Imaging Engine, Pro XDR display, super-clear image engine, and more.

With scintillating style, top-notch performance and an amazing display, the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro promises to push hardware limits. OnePlus has delivered a drool-worthy flagship that technophiles will flock to. Some occasional software quirks need polish but overall, the Ace 2 Pro cements OnePlus as a trailblazer in innovation and user experience. For those seeking a reliable all-rounder brimming with power and panache, the Ace 2 Pro warrants serious consideration.
