Sony WF-1000XM5 Buds: The Next-Gen Noise-Cancelling Earbuds

Sony’s about to drop some dope new earbuds soon. I’m talking next-level noise cancellation paired with bonafide HiRes Audio. These buds aren’t playing around.

Sony just announced they’re hosting a launch party on July 24th at midnight to unveil their new flagship WF-1000XM5 wireless earbuds. And if the leaks are legit, these buds are gonna pump up the volume on what we expect from quality audio on the go.

Based on previous leaks, the WF-1000XM5 is expected to be smaller and lighter than its predecessor, the WF-1000XM4, with a 20% reduction in weight. The unit weight is 5.9g, which is only 1g heavier than Sony’s comfortable noise-cancelling earbuds, the LinkBuds S, released last year.

The battery life of the WF-1000XM5 is expected to be up to 24 hours, including charging from the charging case. According to Walkman Blog, the earbuds will also support 1 hour of listening time with just 3 minutes of charging.

Sony has priced the earbuds at €319.99 in Europe, which is 15% more expensive than the previous generation. The company has stated that the new driver unit in the WF-1000XM5 provides “richer vocals” and better sound detail output, as well as supporting HiRes Audio and DSEE Extreme. The earbuds are also expected to use “Dynamic Driver X” technology.

The earbuds are equipped with three microphones in each earbud, which can detect environmental noise more accurately, clean up background noise, and provide clearer call quality. In addition, the Sony WF-1000XM5 integrates bone conduction sensors and precise voice pickup technology, which can capture the wearer’s voice perfectly even in noisy environments.

The new ANC Buds come with a charging case equipped with a 500mAh battery, extending the total playback time to 24 hours. Sony’s WF-1000XM5 is sure to be a highly anticipated addition to the company’s audio product lineup. Are you excited to see what Sony has in store for the WF-1000XM5?
