Apple Vision Pro Global Launch Planned Prior to WWDC 2024

According to reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is aiming to release the Vision Pro augmented reality headset in markets outside the U.S. before June’s WWDC 2024 event.

The Vision Pro initially launched in February limited to the United States. Expanding availability globally prior to WWDC would drive momentum for Apple’s visionOS platform, per Kuo.

Kuo cites several factors that have delayed the Vision Pro’s international launch so far:

  • Limited initial supply of the $3,499 headset
  • Ensuring a smooth US sales process first
  • Modifying algorithms to meet regulations abroad

But Apple appears eager to make progress on those fronts to widen the Vision Pro launch ahead of WWDC.

At the developer conference, Apple reportedly plans to share more visionOS details to spur app creation. Launching in more countries would further stoke developer interest.

WWDC 2024 promises to be a major milestone for visionOS. With the Vision Pro in the hands of users worldwide by then, Apple could inspire a wave of innovative visionOS apps and experiences.

Kuo believes getting the futuristic headset onto world stages sooner rather than later is key to establishing visionOS as the dominant XR platform.

For those outside the US excited to explore Apple’s vision of augmented reality, hopeful signs point to your wait ending within months. We’ll know if Apple meets its ambitious pre-WWDC global launch target soon!
