Sony’s LYTIA brand expands with five new 50-megapixel sensors

Sony’s LYTIA brand is set to shake up the smartphone photography game with five new 50-megapixel sensors. The LYT 900 is the highest-end of the bunch, boasting a photosensitive area 9.05% larger than traditional 1-inch sensors used in digital cameras like the RX100. With low power consumption and the ability to achieve high grayscale values, this sensor is designed for high-quality shooting.

The LYT 800 is Sony’s first image sensor to use a dual-layer transistor pixel structure, which can achieve high signal saturation. This sensor is only 1/1.43 inches but has a picture quality close to that of the 1-inch massive sensor CMOS, which has a photosensitive area 2.04 times larger.

For those looking for a front-facing camera upgrade, the LYT 500 is designed specifically for selfies. Equipped with an Always-on function, this sensor has a size of 1/2.9 inches and uses a 0.6μm small pixel design.

Sony’s official introduction explains that the launch of these multiple 50-megapixel sensors is due to the increasing popularity of this resolution level in smartphones. The LYTIA brand is set to provide users with high-quality shooting experiences in diverse shooting scenarios and applications.

With the LYTIA brand’s expansion, Sony is stepping up its game in the smartphone photography market. These new sensors promise to provide high-quality shooting experiences and give users the ability to capture stunning photos in a variety of settings. Will this be the start of a new era in smartphone photography?
