Samsung’s Exynos 2400 Chip Brings Ray Tracing, AI, and More

Samsung has officially launched its next flagship mobile processor, Exynos 2400. This highly anticipated chip will power certain regional versions of the Galaxy S24 and S24+ smartphones. Promising major improvements in graphics, AI, connectivity, and more, Exynos 2400 looks to deliver elite performance.

Built on an advanced 4nm process, the Exynos 2400 features an octa-core CPU based on Arm’s latest architectures. This includes one high-power Cortex-X4 core, four performance A720 cores, and three efficiency A510 cores. Together they provide a big boost to processing speeds.

Graphics get a major upgrade with the Samsung Xclipse 940 GPU. Based on AMD’s new RDNA 3 architecture, it enables hardware-accelerated ray tracing on a mobile chip for the first time. This brings console-quality visuals to mobile gaming. The GPU also supports AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution for boosted frame rates at high resolutions.

AI capabilities are vastly improved, with the Exynos 2400’s neural processing 14.7x faster than its predecessor. This supercharges on-device AI features, also supports phenomenally high-resolution cameras, up to 320MP.

Additional highlights of the Exynos 2400:

  • 5G connectivity with blazing 12.12 Gbps downlink
  • 8K video decoding at 60 fps
  • Displays up to 4K resolution at 120 Hz
  • Advanced gaming features like ray tracing
  • Cutting-edge 4nm manufacturing process
  • Substantial gains in CPU and GPU performance

By leveraging the latest technologies and Samsung’s expertise, the Exynos 2400 looks to deliver elite power efficiency, performance, and features. Ray tracing and high-resolution camera support bring capabilities previously limited to PCs and consoles. With huge leaps in on-device AI and 5G speeds, the Exynos 2400 sets a new standard for mobile processors. Expect it to power seamless, immersive experiences on the Galaxy S24 series.
