Samsung coming soon their smart object tracker with the Galaxy SmartTag 2, which has recently received Bluetooth certification and supports Bluetooth 5.3. This new device is designed to help you find and track your items with the help of Samsung’s SmartThings IoT platform. The certification listing explicitly names the product, so you know exactly what you’re getting.
According to rumors, the Galaxy SmartTag 2 will have better overall battery life than its 2021 predecessor. Samsung has also made improvements to connectivity stability and range, so you won’t have to worry about losing your items. Additionally, the new tracker is expected to improve wireless connectivity range, buzzer volume, and enhance security measures to prevent unauthorized tracking.
Samsung is gearing up for a big release, with plans to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 foldable phones and smartTag 2 , as well as some smart wearable buds, around August this year.
Unfortunately, there’s not much information available about the Galaxy SmartTag 2 at the moment. It’s unclear whether the new smart tracker will have more improvements or what it will look like. We do know that Samsung may need to raise the buzzer volume and offer better protection against dust and water, as the original model’s IP53 rating isn’t as strong as Apple’s AirTag’s IP67.
If you’re not familiar with the Galaxy SmartTag series, it was launched in January 2021, with the regular Galaxy SmartTag using Bluetooth technology to connect to phones and retailing for $29.99. The Galaxy SmartTag+ added more accurate UWB ultra-wideband technology and retailed for $39.99. The new Galaxy SmartTag 2 is sure to be a significant improvement over its predecessors, and we can’t wait to get our hands on it!
