Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 and Fold6 Tipped for Larger Displays, S24 Series received certification from the U.S. FCC

Ross Young shared intriguing expectations for Samsung’s upcoming foldable portfolio, headlined by noticeably more spacious screens. Both the Galaxy Z Flip6 and Z Fold6 will allegedly adopt larger exterior and inner foldable display compared to predecessors, per Young’s supply chain checks.

On the clamshell Z Flip6, tips a larger 3.9” external display (Z Flip 5 front screen at 3.6 inches). While the main interior screen size remains unspecified, any expansion helps ease cramped outer glanceability and notifications, follows earlier rumors of a 50MP primary camera bringing photography up to speed with standard Galaxy flagships.

As for the Z Fold6 book-style foldable expected in H2 2024 alongside the Flip6, Young did not provide concrete measurements. Again, boosting display real estate while preserving compact folded size remains the goal.

Samsung wrapped U.S. FCC regulatory certification for its Galaxy S24 range more imminently launching early next year. As per filings, Galaxy S24, S24 Plus and S24 Ultra will each release global Exynos variants along with North American Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 models as predecessor generations (Processor Plans Leak: Snapdragon for Ultra, Exynos for S24/S24+).

Foldables still comprise a single digit smartphone production share for Samsung, reportedly targeting 8.4 million Z Flip and Fold units next year, with a lofty aim of manufacturing approximately 250 million to 260 million phones in total during 2024, the tech giant clearly expects demand trends to support expanded foldable output.

Assuming Young’s intel proves accurate, stretching display dimensions indicates Samsung’s confidence in advancing foldable usability, durability and yields. Building upon the strong foundation established by the well-received Z Flip5 and Fold5 in refining external screens, multi-tasking software, and camouflaged hinge.
